Defining Ductless Systems
Ductless air systems are similar to a central air conditions in that it consists of an indoor unit (evaporator) and an outdoor unit (condenser). The main difference is that a central AC systems directs cool air to an air handle that distributes air to all of the rooms through the duct work. A ductless system sends air to a slender box that mounts directly on the wall or ceiling in each room through a thin cable, no ductwork needed.
Benefits of Going Ductless:
Energy Efficiency
Ductless systems are more energy efficient than central air systems by reducing the electricity needed for operation. Each zone can be adjusted independently, so you can heat and cool each room to fit your needs.
Zoning Control
Ductless systems are great in office spaces to customize employee and customer heating and cooling comfort! Zone control also works well in two story homes, garage conversions, and add-ons where temperature control issues are major factors.
Ease of Installation
Ductless systems reduce time and hassle of instillation. Ductwork can be expensive, time consuming, and messy. Ductless systems use a thin line requiring only a small hole in the wall of the structure, so they are less destructive and quicker to install.
